As the end of the year quickly approaches and we get ready to jump into our 5th year here at nclud, we’re excited to announce the latest member of the nclud team, Brian Singer. Brian is joining the nclud team as a Web Developer. We’re really happy to have Brian as a part of the team for a variety of reasons; he’ll be primarily joining Brandon in leading our mobile application development. Aside from having a new rookie to push around in Mario Kart, Brian brings with him a wealth of experience and passion, most specifically as an iOS, PHP and Java developer.

It’s no secret that we at nclud have been working in the mobile space more frequently this past year, something we plan to continue very much of. As content management systems evolve and web applications mature, we’re seeing a significant decrease in innovation and creativity within the traditional web; it’s in mobile that we’re most excited because of its infancy. The room to be unique, to be innovative, to truly be creative is greater; the opportunities are vast! And simply put, we love to be in a place where we can be as unique and creative as possible. Brian represents a part of this shift in our focus; a sentiment being shared industry wide.

Brian comes to us as an Application Architect from Accenture; he’s also now our fourth James Madison University alumni as well as a proud D.C. resident. As with all of the members of the nclud team, it’s his youthful ambitious passion that really grabs our attention. Brian’s experience in iPhone development will compliment our ever-growing portfolio as we continue to develop more native iOS applications. We’re also excited to utilize Brian’s extensive experience as a Java developer to jump into the Android market for the first time. We are not exactly sure where Android development will take us in the future, but we’re certainly up for finding out; that and it makes for a great excuse to get a Google TV in the studio!

However, it’s not all mobile all the time … Brian is of course a talented front-end as well as a PHP developer. He’ll be helping us experiment further with HTML5 and CSS3 as well as customizing and extending popular PHP based CMS solutions.

As we jump into our 5th year, we've got a lot of exciting projects lined up … we’re looking forward to 2011 and are excited to have Brian on board for the ride.

I hope Brian is aware of what he’s getting himself into at nclud. I also hope he has a Wii and Mario Kart at home because he’s going to need the practice to keep up with his coworkers.

By the way, I’m still baffled as to how I wasn’t in that picture from the AEA party…

The only question that really matters: Is he a coffee drinker?

@Dan good question… As of right now I’m the only coffee drinker at nclud… How’s this possible?

I’ve said it before & will say it again: I don’t trust programmers that don’t like coffee. Bitterness is what we thrive on ;)

Hey guys! I do have a Wii and will be a Mario Kart bruiser in no time. I also drink coffee like it’s water, and agree that a programmer that’s not hopped up on caffeine just isn’t natural.

Hope to meet you all soon.
